Admissions
French Speaking
It is not necessary for your child(ren) to be able to speak or understand French when enrolling at La Maternelle. Our student body includes children from many families that do not speak French at home. We have found that these children become naturally bilingual at a very early age, thanks to our policy of total immersion in a French language and educational environment.
Enrollment Procedures
We welcome all students and do not require placement testing for admission. Enrollment operates on a “First come, First served” basis, and the registration process can begin with the submission of the 1st page of the Registration form. This helps us enter your child into our system and ensures that the classrooms are properly organized by our director.
Our academic school year runs from late August through late May. However, we accept children ages 18 months through Kindergarten (5 to 6 years old) throughout the year. We also offer a summer camp from early June through the second week of August.
We encourage parents to tour La Maternelle’s campus and meet with our Director to learn more about our educational programs, student needs, policies, space availability, and to address any questions.
*If your child has special needs, please meet with our Director to determine if we can accommodate those needs.
Billing and Fees
For the infant room (ages 6 weeks to 18 months), we offer only a 5-day per week program to provide a consistent routine for the youngest children. For “la Creche” and PreK-2, families can choose between a 3-day per week program or a 5-day per week program. For PreK-3 through Kindergarten, we offer a 5-day per week program to ensure all students progress through the curriculum at the same pace.
Monthly tuition and program fees will vary depending on the schedule and services you select.
Waiting List
Due to demand, our classrooms can fill up early. If you are interested in having your child attend La Maternelle French Academy, but there are no open seats in the appropriate grade or section, you may be added to our waiting list by paying a non-refundable deposit. Once space becomes available this deposit will be credited towards your registration fee.
