Preschool Admissions & Enrollment in Houston
No French required
Your child doesn’t need to speak or understand French to join La Maternelle. Many of our families don’t speak French at home, and their children become naturally bilingual at a very early age thanks to our bilingual environment, where French is spoken throughout the day.
Enrollment procedures
- ✓No placement test: enrollment is first come, first served
- ✓School year: late August to late May
- ✓Children from 6 weeks to Kindergarten (5 to 6 years old) are accepted throughout the year
- ✓Summer camp: early June to the second week of August
- ✓Start by sending us page 1 of the registration form, so we can add your child to our system and organize the classrooms
- ✓We encourage you to tour our campus and meet our director to learn about our programs, policies and space availability
If your child has special needs, please meet with our director to determine whether we can accommodate them.
Programs and fees
Monthly tuition and program fees depend on the schedule and services you select.
Waiting list
Our classrooms can fill up early. If no seat is open in your child’s class, you can join our waiting list by paying a non-refundable deposit. Once a spot opens, the deposit is credited toward your registration fee.

A Day at La Maternelle
Regular School Hours
Classes begin each day at 8:30 AM and end at 3:30 PM.
Extended Hours
Before-care every day from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM, and after-care from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
Business Office Hours
Our office staff is available daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Outside those hours, you can schedule an appointment by calling our front desk at +1 (281) 589-7400.
